wow

foofie really discribed kicky to a "T", didn't he?

Always wanting to look like he's somebody, walking out of his apartment like he's on stage...

Yup, chai. Me too. I always expect and often get a standing O when I step out of my building and schlep to the corner market.

This friend of mine, his apt in Tribeca has a small grocery right next to it, the 2 buildings share a walkway with a roof. He goes over there in his bathrobe all the time to pick something up. He rides around the neighborhood for errands on an old red bike with a wicker basket on the front, and a honka honka horn.

Funny, when in his teens, 20's and 30's he used to be Mr. GQ.

He pulls off blowing a honka honka horn with incredible flair.

oh....sorry....this has been the chai digression of the day....back to you kicky.

I've had orgasms when standing up, but hardly ever when I was stepping out of buildings or schlepping to corner markets. Wow, living in Manhattan sounds great! No wonder it's so expensive! Laughing

Kicky, you should at least look into places in Brooklyn. It's still expensive, but you get more for your money. More single people live in the boroughs than in the city, equally good nightlife (IMHO), excellent cafe scene, fewer tourists and better grocery shopping. I lived in Manhattan for years, but when I moved to Brooklyn I didn't feel any less a part of things. I found Brooklyn to be more social and I had a great apartment in comparison to my tub in kitchen tenement off of Ave. A. Can't hurt to look.

Eva, It finally dawned on me how the conversation got to orgasms. The standing O I was referring to was an allusion to Foofie's comment:

Foofie wrote:
Some people, in my opinion, leave their apartments and step onto the sidewalk as though they have walked onstage.

Standing ovation. If I was having orgasms every time I schlepped to the corner market, I'd be doing a lot more shopping. "Hey, Mr. Grocery Man, can I buy them eggs one at a time?"

Now back to kicky's problem--finding an affordable apartment. Sorry about the hijack, kicky.

I knew that, Roberta. Laughing I was just funnin' with ya. Seeing you write standing ovation as "a standing O" reminded me of people who refer to an orgasm as "the big O." I couldn't resist... Cool

Better translation (from my head):

I know because I know. No more. I do not answer the questions.

You know because you know?

Your comments were irritating.

Your response here is also irritating.

And I'm irritated because I'm irritated.

Chill out kitty kat. Not worth getting your fur all ruffled. But it sounds just as goofy in your translation. Laughing

Semi-chilling, eoe. Not one of my strong suits. Fur is unruffled. And you're right about the goofy part.

I give information. Why would anyone want to know how I know? What could the possible answers be!

The answer is, I'm too private a person to tell. The information is all my opinion; accept my opinion, or don't; your choice.

How about "I've lived there for ten years and have seen this behavior with my own eyes"? That a possible answer. Rolling Eyes

I think what Foofie is saying is, all that he/she had to say about New Yorkers and living in NY is just his/her own little opinion. Nothing more. And that is fine. But the smart person will base such opinions on facts or, at least, personal experiences and not something someone else told them or even worst, garbage that they've made up in their own heads, based on nothing.

It's too bad that he/she doesn't feel a need to back up her/his opinion but neither did Adolph Hitler or George Bush, to name two.
