Never. Not like any of you care, but never.
Did you not promise yourself you'd never get old?
Yes you have. You gave up smoking and I'm very proud of you for doing so.

Well, I'm one who never cared about what you don't give up on except hearing you bitch about your failures.
BBB
well, good for you!
I don't think I've ever actually given up on anything. I may not have tried as hard as I could, but I've never just walked away and not looked back.
BPB, are we talking about anything in particular, or just in general?

go ahead....i didn't realize you were privy to so much info.....
Me either.
Sometimes we don't get a choice though. That sucks. Though good can come of it sometimes.
First round on me if we're ever in the same town.
For example, on March 23, 2005, you said "Gus and Lord Ellpus frighten me."
Did you get over that whussy phobia?

a couple of things... but nothing whiny btw, more of a positive statement.
I am seeing some results of that attitude lately and it empowers me. sometimes I just write things down and that's all it is, BBB's psychoanalysis aside.

you got the wrong Bear honey.

Then the next day in March 2005, you went through your Schizophrenia stage and became blueveinedthrobber.
"Hello I am the blueveinedthrobber. I decided to join this forum while I am temporarily laid up and recovering after a bizarre filming accident on the job. This seems like a really nice place and I'm going to enjoy sorting out who's who."
Does it mean you achieved success when you returned to being Bi-Polar Bear?

Well, I for one give up frequently. It's very liberating.

the blueveinedthrobber allowed me to continue to post after BPB was banned. I successfully manuevered around that and was able to stay on A2K. Problem?
PS I'm pretty sure the mods knew who BVT was all along God bless 'em.

I do like a woman who gives it up frequently.
to be serious for a moment...
isn't "giving up" sometimes the wisest thing to do, depending on what it is you're trying to accomplish, or the situation?
Never giving up can at times just be plain stubborness.
Then, not giving up when it would really be the best for all involved, is just cutting off your nose to spite your face.
I've given up many times in life....when I realized I was wrong in my thinking, or what I was trying to accomplish...
When what I was seeking and/or trying to hold on to wasn't working for me any more...
When I've learned what I was trying to do for someone wasn't what they wanted, or needed.
I'm going to the gym now so I can't play for a few hours.
you don't think a body like this is all genetics do you?

In March 2005, The Bear must have found his life mantra:
My personal life lesson is "don't run toward someone holding poop".
Hooray!

we're wired differently I suppose. If I was trying to do something for someone and learned they didn't want or need it or that it was best to just let something go because it was counterproductive , well that's different from giving up. That's modifying your approach.
On the important things you don't give up.
