Lately I have been getting a lot of spam e-mail addressed to a CindyQ, or Cindy and James, or some other variation on 'Cindy'. Why does this happen, and how can I stop it?

Huh.

Could be that someone entered a random address for one of those online quizzes, for example, entered their name as cindy and/or james, and lo and behold that is your address too.

Or, more likely than random, cindy and/or james' address is just a character or two different from yours, and they typoed.

I'm not sure if you can do anything beyond blocking the senders.
