Is there a book called "The Curse of the King"?

Back when I was in school, I read an excerpt from a novel where the characters discussed the infamous "curse" of the sphinx. I now long to read that book, but have no idea what that book's title is. Have you ever heard of such a book? How many books, especially novels, have dealt with this subject so far?

Thanks!

I'm not sure which you want to know about - the curse of the king or the curse of the Sphinx, as you ask about both. Is it possible that you're talking about the Curse of King Tut's Tomb? Or the curse of the mummy?

FYI, a few places to find about any books publisbhed is to submite a web search in search engines such as Google, Wikipedia or Snswers.com

Here's a few links when I submitted the keywords into Google search and Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Curse_of_King_Tut%27s_Tomb

Or perhaps it's taken from the book which quotes from the bible's excerpt of Ecclesiastes: 'Curse Not the King'

Internet search did not answer my query, and that is why I came up here.
I have found the excerpt. Will post back after googling character names.

Duh. Google doesn't turn up anything. One of the characters is Sir Edward Travers, who's died -- thanks to the "curse". There's wild consternation concerning his death. And there's this Miss Osmond, and her beau Tybalt.

Anybody?
