French music is so great and there are some truly remarkable songs that are worthwhile mentioning.
Here is one from Serge Lama. From what I understand watching the video and reading the comments, he has rewritten the lyrics of a song of Lara Fabian and he is singing it to her as a tribute. I have seen a video of Lara with her lyrics, and this version is much better.
It is funny because when the music started, she was saying that it looked familiar to her.
If you're gonna talk French singers, you should be thinking of Edith Piaf.

Apart from "La vie en rose" from Piaf, which one would be of interest, Jespah? I don't know her very well.

You got it right . I don't remember hearing it, I am going to try to find it.
I like her virtual duet with Charles Aznavour, "Plus bleu que le bleu de tes yeux". Very nice.

I prefer some of the current music coming out of Quebec to the old-skool music from France. The music in a lot of Europe got too "pop"py for my taste.
There's a fabulous program on the CBC Saturday nights that can be listened to online if you're interested in the current track of good French-language music.

Oh, that's nice, Ehbeth, I will listen to it one day. Thanks for telling me. You don't like old-school French music? There are so many good songs, seems to me.
Here is a gigantic song from a gigantic artist. The English version is called "If You Go Away".
Ecoutez "Nantes" par Barbara....Certainment la vie apres Piaf !

Thank you, Fresco. I heard about her but never actually heard her. Is she still living and singing? I have to read a little bit about her, I don't know anything.
