My baby brother has a fever. My mother is feeding him medicine.

Is feeding correctly used? Thanks.

@tanguatlay,
Feeding sounds odd in that context.

I usually hear "giving" in that context. Administering can be used but sounds stuffy.

Giving him medicine, or dosing him with medicine.

@contrex,
In North America, dosing is most often used when talking about farm animals.

I'm not sure how/why it evolved in that way, but if you told someone in my hometown that you were measuring a dose, they'd think you were preparing medication for a goat/cow/pig/horse etc - and dosing is giving that medication to the animal.

In Britain, it is mainly humans. It is very often used in connection with a temporary condition, and when a short course of medication is being talked about - I had backache/hay fever/a cold/toothache so I dosed myself with painkillers/antihistamines/Vitamin C/whisky. We dose children and yes, animals.

@tanguatlay,
I've heard of feeding someone medicine, but only when the doses were very frequent. If that isn't the case, I suggest you don't use it.
