How much will someone get if they bought a $202k home and sold it three yes later to go back to an apartment?

Try Zillow.com and look for comparable properties in your area. For all we know, you have a new neighbor which has been designated as an EPA Super Fund Site.

It will give you a good idea of the selling price. compare that to what you paid for it.

Well since we're off topic.. while putting, say, 5k in to a 5k car usually doesn't make it a 10k car, a well sorted car with service records that books for 5k should command a premium over an otherwise identical car of the same value.
