I'm reading Jon Carroll columns again. Do you have a fav columnist?

Hard to describe his writing - he writes about the quotidian, daily life. I've read his stuff for years but had stopped a while ago, I think because his columns were behind a San Francisco Chronicle paywall for a time.

The one I read today had to do with solitude and loneliness, but also about having an MRI, something I learned about recently myself. His description of the process made me grin.

the column I read: http://www.sfgate.com/entertainment/carroll/article/I-like-solitude-loneliness-not-so-much-4837350.php

a recent list of his columns/titles: http://www.sfgate.com/columnists/carroll/

@ossobuco,
Gail Collins!

Also David Pogue. Not happy he's abandoned NYT for Yahoo, will see how it works out.

@sozobe,
I like her too. Don't know anything about Mr. Pogue.
