I can think of others to put on the list, such as the AMC Matador and the Crosley.

I agree. The list is quite selective.

@Lustig Andrei,
Access to that site has been problematic for me.

AMC Pacer is always on the least popular lists.

@Lustig Andrei,
All-time ugliest car was the 50's model Volvo:
http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/1962_Volvo_PV_544_Restored_Front_1.jpg

A few contenders for worst car of all time...

Vega and Pinto, obviously... Those two were deliberate. The bean-counters running Detroit in those days believed that they could not profit from selling small cars; the idea was to build two spectacularly bad small cars and convince Americans that they didn't want small cars.

AMC Gremlin, an aerodynamic disaster looking for a way to happen in any sort of a crosswind:

Triumph Stag, slow V8 sport car with cams which would warp out of a clear sky ("Swagger up to a Stag, and stagger away")...
http://img.timeinc.net/time/2007/50_cars/triumph_stag.jpg

Renault Dauphin: Public apology to the American people from French government:

Worst combination of ugly and dysfunctional, 80s V6 Volvo:

The V6 Volvos were ugly enough while not running. When running, they usually resembled a destroyer laying down a smoke screen in "Victory at Sea".

Humber Super Snipe:

Various SuperSnipe configurations featured clutches based on sand, magnetism, voodoo..

Early 60s Chrysler Imperial, power brakes and steering made car borderline uncontrollable:

Corvair Monza, Nader was 100% correct about this car, suspension was unsafe at any speed:

my dad had a Pinto and loved it for awhile, but when it started to die it died quick. one of my dads proudest moments as a salesman was finding a sucker to buy it for many multiples of what it was worth. he said that he would have never accepted as much as be got except that the guy from the jump kept bragging about how he knew everything that there was to know about cars. dad was hopeing that the pinto survived the test drive, which was no small thing at that point.

If ever there was a company which deserved to go under, it was AMC.

My lead petty officer owned an Edsel. I rode with him from Long Beach to San Antonio. It was a nice car.

Despite being Swedish I never got to like Volvo. As a faimly we needed an old car for tranporting things we did not like to use the good cars for.
My husbond wanted a car with a towering hook. I told him no matter what "I DO NOT WANT A VOLVO" The daughter said "I DO NO WANT A RED CAR"
Off he went - got a good car for the price he wnated to pay and came home with a towering hook with a RED VOLVO in front.
I do drive it when I have to - but it is like driving a tractor.

@saab,
A woman once pulled into my buddy's garage with a Volvo which looked like a destroyer laying down a smoke screen and I said:

Quote:
Gee, Vaughn, I didn't know El Producto made cars!!

and the woman had her window down and had to have heard that. My buddy winced visibly....

@edgarblythe,
The Edsel wasn't an unusually bad car for what it was, it was mainly just a case of bad timing. The Edsel was just a next step in bigger/gaudier at a point in time when the American buying public had gotten tired of bigger and gaudier.

I don't include it in any sort of a list of all-time bad cars.

My first car was a Corvair. I loved it. An acquired taste.

That's interesting, because they were successfully road raced.

@IRFRANK,
My brother had a Corvair. It didn't take much wind to make it nearly unsteerable.

@edgarblythe,
The Volvo 544 (I owned a '63) was probably the most reliable and rugged foreign car available in the US in the early sixties. It was also really roomy.
