That's right, we do. Please step forward and announce yourself. Who's/was left-handed that you might not know? Leonardo Da Vinci, for one.

Pity, all of you minority-dominant-handedness folks have the label "gauche" plastered on you in an act of linguistic oppression.

James Garfield, Harry Truman, Gerald Ford; Ronald Reagan allegedly switched from lefty to right by misguided teacher as a kid.
1992 presdiential race: Bill Clinton, George HW Bush, Ross Perot all lefties.
2008 presidential race: Barack Obama, John McCain both lefites.

Discrimination against the left is common in several realms of society. For example, in those arabic cultures where food is eaten without silverware, it is only the right hand that is used, since the left hand is judged as unclean. (And why theft has traditionally been punished with amputation of the right hand)

In the Roman Catholic Church, there was a televised liturgy shortly before Easter Sunday one year, in which the pope ceremonially washed the feet of several men (seminarians) - but only the right foot of each one. Why? Apparently the left foot was considered too unclean to be washed.

Then there's the New Year's custom of first-footing, where the threshold is crossed with the right foot first.

Thank you, Robert Gentel - I am feeling quite beamish at receiving your response in my favorite brand, "Kwik & Kordial", a line which also includes "Kwik & Kleer".

Posting comes with a struggle, though. (A slogan I really like comes from Cesar Chavez, "La lucha es sin fin" -- The struggle is endless.) Prudence tells me I should be toiling at preparation for a lecture-presentation, but procrastination tells me I can divert some time with an A2K posting or two. My rules of engagement are such that procrastination usually triumphs.

@Aa,
Aa! hooray!!

On left handed folk, I've often observed that many of my favorite people are left handed - not a scientific survey, of course, but noticeable just the same. I wonder if there are studies on left handed people and cultural traits. I'll have to do some googleing.
