Ischemic Heart Disease is one of the major causes of death and hospital admissions in the United States. It is characterized by lack of blood supply to the heart muscle, which is usually caused by CAD or Coronary Artery Disease. These complications can lead to death if left untreated which is why it is imperative that people suffering from ischemic heart disease must tread with caution. Watching what they eat, taking maintenance drugs and having an ample amount of exercise are some of the necessary precautions a person suffering from ischemic heart disease must take.

Ischemic heart disease which is triggered by coronary artery disease is a serious condition that people must be well informed about since it is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. As mentioned above, CAD happens when the heart's blood supply is blocked which is usually caused by atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is defined by the build-up of plaque on the arterial walls of the blood vessels resulting to a hampered blood flow to the heart. Since atherosclerosis can be deemed as one of the main factors why CAD happens, let us know more about this condition and address its symptoms at an early age to reduce risk of having ischemic heart disease.

Atherosclerosis happens when there is too much plaque build-up on our blood vessel walls. This happens when there is an excess of cholesterol in the blood. Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in our blood vessels that helps regulate bodily functions. However having too much cholesterol in the blood leads to a number of complications but one of the most alarming is atherosclerosis. This condition can lead to narrowing and hardening of the blood vessels which can lead to total blockage and result to myocardial infarction (heart attack) if left untreated.

The good news is that this can be prevented or even reversed with a healthy lifestyle, medication, and other alternative treatments. In fact, one of those alternative treatments supposedly includes cannabidiol (CBD), which is one of 113 active cannabinoids (chemical compounds) found in cannabis or marijuana. You can read more on this website about cannabidiol.

At this point, you're probably wondering, "How can marijuana cure heart disease?" Well, medical marijuana is already being used legally in at least 29 states and Washington DC. Among these states are California, West Virginia, New York, Florida, Nevada, Illinois, and more. Doctors would normally prescribe CBD oil for patients' use and advise them of the right dosage to use to treat certain heart ailments. Do note that use of medical marijuana is regulated because over dosage or taking it without prescription could have adverse effects.

As to how it cures heart disease, apparently, cannabidiol can limit cell damage. Moreover, it offers cardio and a neuroprotective effect soon after a patient suffers from a heart attack or stroke. It's been found to reduce oxidative stress, fibrosis, and inflammation. CBD is also an effective anti-arrhythmic. In addition, administering CBD after a patient suffers a stroke can protect neurons from damage, so the brain damage that usually occurs after a stroke is effectively prevented.

It would be helpful if you try to know more about CBD to see how it can help treat various ailments, including cardiovascular ones.
