Meself, the lady Diane and Osso went to lunch today; I was thinking about Setanta when I ordered Iced tea, meatloaf with fresh snap beans, smashed taters and brown gravy. The lady Diane had a California wrap with chicken, turkey, bacon and avocado while Osso had Pecan Crispy Ocean Perch. For dessert lady Diane had fresh made peach pie ala mode and Osso had Caramel pecan spice cake. I also got a brownie to go to have with my morning tea. I forgot all about Setanta.
Osso sounds like she knows how to eat.
Give me some good meatloaf, and i'll forget about Setanta, too.
So the meatloaf was deep blue?
Well, ocean perch worried me a little, there being no ocean anywhere near here, but the fish was good. Not the usual burnt flat cardboard bit. On the other hand, I don't understand breading fish, just grill it or saute it or bake it right and I'll be happy, so I scraped all the pecan foofoo off. (I tried it, it wasn't delicious pecan foofoo, and I wouldn't have eaten that either.)
The grilled veggies were very good, got my fork of approval - a mix of red and green peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini - fresh and not much overcooked.
The rice was dead pellets, but that is usual for many restaurants, even this relatively good one. Thus, room for dessert.
The dessert - I had some of the pie and Diane had some of the pecan caramel cake. Both had too strong flavoring for me... by far too strong. However, both were real, as in REAL PIE and REAL CAKE, baked from scratch on the premises. Much of the cake remained on the table. I never even saw the brownie....
