National Do Not Call Registry

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free. Your registration will be effective for five years.

The law setting up Britain's "Telephone Preference Scheme" was passed in 1999. The US equivalent started in 2003. Do the math.

What I was gently trying to point out is that it can be annoying, on an international web forum, to read posts from people who just plain assume that the USA is the only country in the world, and that every else is behind in whatever field.

I've been on the do not call list here for a couple of years. The last few weeks I started getting calls again so I re registered, hope that the calls slow down!
