Choosing a Baby Formula

Bella has a thread with that title. I decided not to participate because I have no use for baby formula and, frankly, I have never considered myself an expert at baby formula so I really have nothing to contribute to that thread.

I'm sure Bella appreciates my decision to stay away.

How do you feel about baby formula threads? Do you generally participate?

One of my best friends is a pediatric nurse. She says she can always tell the breast feed from the formula feed children when looking at their health histories. The children who are breast feed are always far more heathier throughout their childhood - less infections and less allergies than the formula feed. I know science backs this up, but she's on the frontline and sees it day to day.

By the way, I will not participate on Bella's thread because she doesn't want to hear the pros and cons of breast feeding. She already thinks formula is better for her. I personally can't imagine choosing to give my child anything other than the best. Therefore, I will keep my opinions here on Gus' tangent thread.

I don't care for baby formula. Not only is it less sweet; it has this chalky taste that really sucks.

I wasn't breast fed, and I'm remarkably healthy.

I think Gus just wanted to post something to get you girls talking about your breasts again.

Can't believe you fell for it. Very Happy

I guess the opposite of breast is best is that formula is not normula or something like that.

The problem with that line of thinking is that there are plenty of things to scare the friggin hell out of a new mother and for those unable to breastfeed for some reason the last thing other women need to be on their high horse about is making them feel bad about not giving their baby "the best."

Really. We could be more supportive.
