I am not a pleasant person today.

If I had a can of Universal Solvent, I'd be very tempted to erase fifty or sixty small irritants--and possibly some major snags as well.

Comment at your peril.

The handwriting on the wall, huh?

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a word of it.

How weary, flat, stale and unprofitable
Seem to me all the uses of this world!

Noddy, I really empathize with you, honey. I feel the same way today. Even Omar Khayyam needs to save his fingers. Well, at least my kids seem all right, and even though spell check doesn't recognize the word "empathize", I can learn to live with that.

It's pretty sad that I opened this thread precisely because I knew exactly what those words meant. I'm a freak.

It's April. Everything bad happens in April. Just hang on for another two weeks and you'll be happy as a clam.

Noddy, Sorry you're having a bad day. Sorry you're feeling the way you're feeling.

Set--

You and Daniel and Omar have the graffiti pegged to a fare-thee-well.

Chai--

I don't rant in tongues--yet. Of course, the possibility exists.

Letty--

Two great minds, hapless in the eddys of time and fate.

FreeDuck--

This too shall pass--but I'm tired of the future tense.

Roberta--

Thanks for the moral support. How did your interview go?

If it would make you feel better, you can sit on my couch, in my cozy little home and have some warm tea and just be still for a while.

That is, if you are up to the flight to get here. Wink

Soz--

Picture those costumes in desert heat--before air conditioning. Of course the European painters dealt in theoretical deserts.

Letty--

I'm glad to know that memorial exists. Where is it?

Roberta--

Pick up a can of spray paint. Any number can play.

Shewolf--

Thanks for the hospitality, but better I remain on my own turf until my fit of petulant passion passes.

And though my lack of education
Hasn't hurt me none
I can read the writing on the wall

George--

Whether the handwriting is in English or Latin or Classic Literature.

****************

Last night I went to bed at six and slept the clock round until seven.

Two daffodils are blooming.

I am feeling more benign about the universe--but April is a tempermental month.
