I stumbled across this by accident and thought many here would find it interesting (and amusing). Not sure whether it should go in the eduction, history, or humour forums, I opted for this general one.

I don't know about the other areas of the world, but must say that I found the Canadian entries too true.

About a year ago I wrote a very simple little 10 question US history test. Basic stuff, with one "ringer" question. My aim was to sample 20-30 people, from my little mid-American town, and then write an article about it. But my little project was ruined by various factors...mainly someone with a big mouth.

I was on one of my rips about our educational system, or the lack thereof...but it passed. I still give the test, and will do something with the results someday.

Anyway, most failed by far, many scored 0-1-2....several 3-4's, then a few fared better. My stepdad, scored the highest with 9 correct, and would have probably gotten a perfect score, if allowed more time to think....he took his purely verbal, via telephone, to his disadvantage

All in all {so far} I've only had 4 score a passing grade, one being a Canadian who scored a 6.
