The Downsides of Increased A2K RAM

For the pessimists and malcontents amongst us, I have come to the conclusion that yes, there IS a downside to increased A2K RAM.

While A2K was snailing along, we had the opportunity to:

Curse at the site, which had the side effect of allaying tension and anxiety. It was very good for our collective mental health.

Do other things while waiting for the site to load. Not quite as important as A2K, but we could get a bill paid here and there, E Mail an old friend who probably thought we had died by now for want of communication, or simply sit quietly and think.

There are those of us who don't want to get used to all this extra RAM fearing that all manner of individuals will flood the site, and we will be back to where we started from.....................with A2K again crawling along.

Have the opportunity to get a sense of what everyone was writing. Since the site has speeded up, members use it as an excuse to say any damned thing that's on their mind. Today when I came home after being out since this morning, I was faced with over 1,000 posts. The thought is exhausting me!

Anyone else think of the downsides of the increased A2K RAM? Pessimists and malcontents unite! There has been far too much good will lately.

More posts per hour that I have to catch up with whenever I get the chance to log on. I know I held back posting if I thought it was going to grind away, now I just let them fly - as does everyone else it seems.

A few days ago, the posts were flying in. It seems to have calmed down a bit. I think what happens, it that there are usually a couple of posters, or certain threads, that catch the imagination, and the posts roll in. There does not seem to be that much of that now.

Someone needs to start an outrageous thread!!!!

Phoenix--

We've had so much outrage lately. Outrage is wearying.

You and I and the other Little Red Crones are going to have to read the Sunday Newspapers with eyes out for stimulating topics.

Of course we deserve Bright Young Things prancing past with perpetual provocative offerings, but it isn't what you want that makes you fat, it's what you get.

I'm so overwhelmed by A2K's speed that I'm taking the afternoon off and going to a concert to sooth my outrage.
