Card Tricks

This is a simple one, it's fun. Not too sophisticated though, works best on kids.

1. Announce (with as much flourish as you'd like) that you're psychic, who can transmit your psychic abilities to others in the short term, while shuffling and stacking a deck of cards. Give some backstory, give examples, have them focusing on you instead of the cards. Note the bottom card before you fan out the deck and "command" the person to point to the [card that was on the bottom of the deck].

2. Once they've pointed, take it out yourself (don't let them see), look very satisfied and say "I knew you could do it!" and then "command" them to point to the [card you just took out of the deck].

3. Repeat step 2 (taking out card, being impressed), except instead of commanding them a third time say "and now I will select the [card you took out of the deck the second time]" and as a sort of an afterthought take the bottom card.

Then ask them to name the cards, and draw them out and display them with a flourish.

In case that's confusing, with card names:

Bottom of the deck is queen of hearts.

Step 1 -- command mark to point to queen of hearts. Draw jack of clubs.

Step 2 -- command mark to point to jack of clubs. Draw king of diamonds.

Step 3 -- announce that you will draw king of diamonds. Take bottom card.

You now have queen of hearts, jack of clubs, and king of diamonds.

Make sure people remember which card they were supposed to pick!
