Hey guys,

My work's sending me to Jaipur in India for a couple of months (and of course I'm heartbroken to have to go  )
Anyone ever been? Know any good places to go?
I know next to nothing about India as a country or a culture. So if there are any experts out there: let me know what to expect!

Tnx and kind regards,

Riddleman

Welcome to A2K, Riddleman!

I haven't been to Jaipur, but have heard from kins and friends who've been there that it's a fine place. It's popular as "Pink City" - god knows why.

As of riddles, I agree.

Wow that's really cool. I wish I had a job that sent me around the world like that. Maybe someday Very Happy . I don't really know anything about Jaipur, but the name sounded cool to me.

I have had two 6-month assignments in Jaipur and I can say that you can really learn to like Jaipur. It has some very interesting forts, palaces, shops, etc. for tourits. Because of its tourism industry there are plenty of good places to stay and eat. I stayed at the Diggi Palace for each of my six-month assgnments and found the staff and food quite good. There are also many interesting places to visit within Rajasthan State, of which Jaipur is the capital. If you have specifici questions I can try to answer them but you should consider that I have not been to Jaipur in almost two years.
