I'm originally from Missouri - The Show Me State.

We're all pretty familiar with the natural wonders, highlights, and otherwise advertised beauties of the world. I wanna see the lesser known attractions in your home state, town or backyard. You know, things that make you proud to call it "home."

We have the Fourth Street Elevator. The shortest and steepest railroad in the world, according to Wikipedia.

I'm familiar with that structure from the history of the Revolution. That is completely different from what i had picture in my "mind's eye." Thanks for posting that, George.

I think my favourite landmarks have to be the various pubs that are dotted around my immediate area.

This one is my favourite though, and is about half an hours drive.

They do a brilliant Sunday Roast!

Breathtaking, George!

Swimpy - Now That's something I'd never heard of. There's a similar "view four states" spot in the southwest corner of Missouri, but no rail to boast about.

Thanks Set & Swimpy.
The "rude bridge" has been rebuilt many times. This version is thought to
be very close to the one the Redcoats marched over in 1775.

I was born in New York, and have lived many, many other places, so i am not from Ohio.

When i was living in Columbus, Ohio, though, the Greek community built the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. It includes more than one million bricks, and i was able to watch its construction over the years. Even these lovely pictures don't really do it justice . . .

I also liked the old Greek Orthodox Church which had stood on Park Street, where you see the parking lot in the second picture, but which, sadly, was torn down when the other had been built.

I was born in Cologne, Germany. We are very proud of our cathedral (construction began in the thirteenth century and was completed in the eighteenth century).

I apologize to Squinney for not being modest (like she asked us to be).

The Center of the Universe

On top of a bridge in downtown Tulsa. If you stand in the center of the circle, any sound you make will reverberate loudly. But only you will be able to hear it. No one standing outside the circle can hear the echo.

I never heard of that, Eva and have been in Tulsa many a time.

Here's a pic of the Falls Lake dam. We are about a quarter mile below the road you see in the bottom right side of the picture. Cub and Cubettes school is about a half mile to the right hand side of the picture. We travel that road daily. I love when they are releasing water and watching it flow across the rocks.

This is a phenomenon well known to all parents of teenagers.

thank you!
We love living here.
Havre de Grace is full of history, antiques, shops, marinas and lots of great people.
Famous for it's duck hunting - Al Capone and Babe Ruth used to hunt here.
We also have the new Bulle Rock Golf Course designed by Pete Dye, where the LPGA Golf Tournament is held each year.

yes, I'm a bit proud of where I live.
