I've stumbled upon a 1902 Barber dime, in pretty good shape. Have checked out a few sites for coins, but got thoroughly confused. Can anyone help?
Coin value
I will probably confuse the issue more than help, but the 2003 "Official Blackbook" lists the value as between $3 and $4,000. Condition is everything. That's where one really needs to know his (or her) stuff. The best bet is go to a dealer with grading experience! Good luck.
Thank you bermbits! I saw two prices ~ $675 and $4250. I will be seeking out a local dealer with my find. Let's hope for the larger end of the scale, huh?
Good luck! If your luck runs like mine, it will be the lower end, but I hope for the best for you!
I'll let you know what I find out!
Nice find there Rae...hope it turns out on the high side for you, and dont let the dealer get ya...althuogh most are pretty good, sometimes though...you just never know.
You could go to a couple just to get a better idea, keep em honest and all that.
Let us know! Always interesting.
Thanks quinn. I've yet to make time to speak with any local collectors, but I will. And I'll speak to several, I promise!
