By the sounds of it, my little trick has worked...

I didn't feel like dealing with trick or treaters tonight because I'm down in the basement and I didn't want to run upstairs every five minutes to answer a knock on the door. So what did I do?

Bear traps. I laid out about three of them on the path leading up to my house. I dug little indentations in the ground and covered the traps with leaves.

I can hear kids screaming right now, blood curdling screams that are ripping through the quiet autumn night and disturbing my beer drinking.

I can clearly hear that two of the screams are from kids, but the last one is deeper and more seasoned. I think I may have bagged one of the mothers.

Next year I will set more traps. I hate to think of how many got away.

You know, you could just turn out the lights and pretend you're not home. It would really save on the prep and clean up time.

Gustav get's various pills on holidays like these. Halloween a black one,
christmas a red/green one, and on Thanksgiving a brown one.
After he's taken his medicine he's much more approachable and in tune
with the holiday season.

Congratulations on finding a practical solution to a serious problem. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find you nominated for a Nobel prize next go around.

Hey Gus, you better get out there and pick up any chocolate candy first. Chocolate can make dogs very ill.

He's got my vote.

The dungeon under the trap door in front of my front door is full. When they ring the bell, the trap door opens.

It's great for getting rid of pesky salespeople, as well as errant trick or treaters.

Just wait till the Christmas season....hehehe!
