I don't have one. But we're going to a Haloween party, put on by my crazy theatre group, where everyone is supposed to come as his/her favorite witch. So, if you have one, post a picture.
Also, any cheap cheap cheap costume ideas related to favorite witches are welcome.

Oooohhh, that looks like a good costume for Dag!

My favorite witch is Esmerelda "Granny" Weatherwax of Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

You guys are wicked. Dag, I don't know who it's by, honey, but the other images of Hecate are a bit too daring.

Baba Yaga!

Noddy was the first to introduce me to Baba Yaga and her house that moves on chicken legs and her fence made of bones.

She's way spooky.

Quote:
In Russian folklore there are many stories of Baba Yaga, the fearsome witch with iron teeth.

She is also known as Baba Yaga Boney Legs, because, in spite of a ferocious appetite, she is as thin as a skeleton. In Russian that's: 'Baba Yaga Kostianaya Noga'

In some stories she has two older sisters, who are also called Baba Yaga, just to confuse you!

Her nose is so long that it rattles against the ceiling of her hut when she snores, stretched out in all directions upon her ancient brick oven.

Not being a boringly-conventional witch, she does not wear a hat, and has never been seen on a broomstick. She travels perched in a large mortar with her knees almost touching her chin, and pushes herself across the forest floor with a pestle.

Whenever she appears on the scene, a wild wind begins to blow, the trees around creak and groan and leaves whirl through the air. Shrieking and wailing, a host of spirits often accompany her on her way.

Being a somewhat secretive lady, (in spite of all the din she makes,) she sweeps away all traces of herself with a broom made of silver birch (what are brooms for anyway?).

She can also fly through the air in the same manner.

Cerridwen, technically a goddess, but Christians used her as their model for what they thought a witch was, especially the cauldron.

Fom www.celticpagan.com :
Cerridwen, a Celtic Goddess known for creating a magical brew that was stirred for a year and a day to produce the Three Drops of Inspiration. These were stolen by a young boy who grew up to be known as Taliesan, a great bard and wizard. The myth of the Goddess' pursuit of this thief involves a dramatic series of shape changing. Cerridwen is the muse who brings inspiration to poets, musicians, writers and those of the creative arts. Historically, Celtic bards were known as Credo, children of Cerridwen.

It's tough for a blonde to be scary. I couldn't carry it off. So I would choose this one.

(psssss that's what wigs are for Eva Very Happy )

in any case, if I was gonna go witchy I'd go with Margaret Hamilton's take on Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West
