HAPPY DIWALI TO ALL
That's a good idea. One original thread and one duplicate, the one that goes around advertising.
Okay. Kidding, kidding.
Happy Diwali to you.
May light shine everywhere.
It's been a lovely day. Lights all around. (Unfortunately, some sounds too
)
How did everyone else's Diwali go?
P.S. How many of you celebrate Dussehra?
Happy Diwali, and a prosperous New Year, everyone! Light up Laxmiji's way straight into your homes!
Oh for the sights (those diyas lined up on balconies, in doorways, along driveways, the rangolis, phuljaris & anaars....), the smells (food, agarbattis, the lingering smell of the phuljari after it finishes burning - likewise of the 'snakes'), the tastes (the chola-alu-puri-kaddu-halwa) and the sounds (the bang of the bombs, the ssssssssssss-phataak of the rockets, the sparkling phuljaris, the taash as it gets shuffled).... ALL of that.... Oh for home!
Enjoy it desh-wasis. The choices we expats make pinch a little around this time.
Here we are around Holi, and I find a thread on Diwali on the Asia page!
Happy Holi everyone!
Spidergal--
Since you're dealing with a well-meaning group of uninformed Westerners, would you start a Happy Holi thread and educate us?
I would love to, but no time Noddy. I have to take a test at school, and won't be around to host the thread.
I'll however revive my old Happy Holi thread, you can find all info on there.
