Hi everyone,

I'm looking for simple Halloween games (we're having a party) for children aged 3 - 7.

Also, if anyone has any recipes for 'scary' food - I'd be really grateful.

Thanks

How can there be a winner in the first 'Pass the Pumpkin' game?

Marijuana laced cookies should get 'em going or do you mean only a bit scary?

Something sweet eh?

An icing sculptor of a skull with a small candle burning inside and a giant pink tongue lolling out with a sinister voice recording repeating "Trick or treat Granny".

Halloween is a demanding money with menaces con and should be stopped. It isn't in the least funny.

I would assume that it's a bit like musical chairs......seven kids, six pumpkins. Then, when one is out, remove a pumpkin as well.

Yeah- it's training them for when they are teenage yobs and when they cause trouble then and put the bite on the pensioners you'll be the first bleeding heart crying crocodiles to get yourself some attention.

I was thinking of using beetroot juice to dye spaghettii and make meatball/eyeballs...

But it might put them off eating it!

Hardboiled eggs....crack the shells slightly, and leave in beetroot juice for a couple of hours. When they're peeled, it'll look like the eggs are all covered in veins.

LUVVERLY!

Bopping for apples always seems to be fun (for adults, too)

Scary food, simply colour your regular food blue and green with some food dye.

Green lemonade
Blue sponge cake, etc.

I bet they will have a lot of fun, and YES it can be very funny, unless you try and invite an old grump...

When I was young and growing up in Scotland there was no "trick or treat" uttered- I think that is an American import with Germanic origins- we used to say "Please help the Gloshans"

Which meant nothing to me until relatively recently I found out there is a Celtic god called Goloshan.

Weird, eh?

Oh, trick or treat is definitely American.

On-one did it when I was a kid...

I always associate halloween with All Hallows Eve, to me it's just used to be walking past Southern cemetery and seeing the lights of hundreds of candles placed on the Polish/Catholic? graves for All Hallows.

First time I heard/saw trick or treat was in a Hollywood film - I didn't understand what is was!

But it's a good excuse to have a childs party - I'm just downloading 'Monster Mash' amongst others for musical coffins...

Children really like the odd fright though, don't you think?

It's a primeval thing, I'm sure...

I shall be dressed as a witch, with stuck on rice crispies for my warts.

Once went to a Fancy dress party, where my friend went as a plague victim with a mixture of Smash and Marmite pasted on her face - looked really effective though.

I will never again be able to look at rice crispies without thinking of that.
