Today the movie 'Hot Shots!' was on TV. I have seen it a few times and was not taking a lot of notice until the main character's father was mentioned, his name being Leland "Buzz" Harley.
This started bells ringing because of the character Leland "Buzz" Meeks in the movie 'LA Confidential'.
Is this just a coincidence, or does the name Leland have a special meaning in the USA that attracts the nickname "Buzz"? (eg, is there a brand of buzz-saw named Leland or something?) This is entirely meaningless, except it struck me as interesting.
As you say, lezzles, this is entirely meaningless. I've known a number of blokes whose nick-name was 'Buzz' but whose given name had nothing whatever to do with Leland.
