Yes, I am craftsy...

Embarrassed

I made some socks for my sister-in-law.
I know she'll like then, or I would not have made it.

I try not to force presents on people...

I want you to know that not all Germans are this organized - I am the
last minute christmas shopper. I'm out there with the desperate ones
on Dec. 24th Laughing

Well actually, it used to be that way. Now I shop on the internet and
have it shipped directly to the recepient, all wrapped up and presentable.

Oh my goodness! I think it is terrible that they have Christmas cookies (Lebkuchen etc.) in the stores already and you are talking about Christmas gifts.

And about socks... I just told my sister that I will be flying to Denver in October - 10 hours on the plane. The first thing she said was 'You could knit a lot of socks then!' Yeah, sure...

That pic is what my little Marty would look like if he were to hold still long enough to keep the outfit on. He's a cutie!

I NEVER buy Lebkuchen before December!
I'd be sooo fed up by christmas if I started eating them now.

However, I HATE last-minute christmas shopping.
I used to do it, too, but then you are so desperate to find stuff, that you're happy with anything, which in my eyes is not the point of a christmas present.

I really love christmas, but I refuse to see it as a commercial necessity.
If I cannot think of something that a person might be happy about, I simply don't buy anything for that person and only get them a nice card.

And the socks I have to make that early, otherwise they might not get ready.
I am always quick with the first one, the second one usually takes at least five times as long.
And I need another pair for my brother-in-law.
He loves REAL German things, so he gets a pair in black, red, and gold!

My intention is to be more organised when it comes to Christmas, but I'm always in a major panic at the last minute. This has reminded me to get working on it soon, but I just know I'll lose this new found enthusiasm come tomorrow.
