If August was a fish, I would have thrown it back. Sometimes, too much bad news all at once.
My daughter in California is now home from the hospital following an emergency operation to remove a 60 pound tumor from her ovary. She is now slowly recovering.
My son spent one day in the hospital to improve his breathing after having pneumonia. He's also slowly recovering.
I have an appointment soon with an orthopedic surgeon for tests to learn if the adhesive in my 26 year old prosthesis in my right knee is failing. I've been lucky as the average lifespan of a total knee replacement device is 10 years. Because of my knee condition, I could not fly to California to be with my daughter.
My garden is full of weeds again after our monsoon season rains.
Sometimes life sucks---then it gets better.

Holy crap!
I don't know if you believe in Karma or not, but you should be building up quite a balance.

My son's wife was going to fly to California to be with my daughter, but when my son developed pneumonia, she had to stay in Albuquerque to take care of him.

Oh no!
I think (unless you have two daughters, I'm not sure) that your daughter is also someone I know and like, so my dismay is redoubled there. Glad that she is improving. (A 60-POUND tumor? Good grief.)
Best wishes to all.

I know my daughter likes you, too. I will send her your best wishes.

Wow! Sorry to hear all that, BBB.
Let's hope that September gets you smiling again.
I'd offer to come over and sort those weeds out for you, but if I left the country, they probably wouldn't let me back in.

With all A2K members who could vouch for your good character, I'm sure we could get you back in your country. I'll save some weeds for you.

At least my dogs Dolly and Madison are doing fine except that Dolly is scooting on her butt today. I haven't seen any sign of worms in her stools, but will have to take her to the vet to learn if she has worms.
It never ends.

The good news is you should all recover nicely. In a couple of months you will all be healthy. I guess there's that saying "count your blessings"

I had an uncle named August. We called him Augie. His wife's name was Florence.

Poor Florence. How did she survive being a member of your clan?

Apparently it never ends. My son tried to return to work today and collapsed at his desk. He was rushed to the emergency room where he spent the day being treated for a pneumonia relapse.
My daughter is recovering slowly and will have her stitches removed tomorrow.
Someone stole the bench from my front yard last night. Discovered that on Saturday, vandals had painted the outside of a trellis on top of my sideyard fence with red paint. My neighbors saw it, called the city, who came out and covered it with white paint to match the trellis.
My neighbors moved my wrought iron arbor over my front walk into the garage until we find out who is doing this crap.
This is a good neighborhood and its not even Halloween yet! Sheeese!

BBB had a good cry
I embarrassed my self in my doctor's office today. Cried tears of relief that it appears I won't need knee surgery. He said the x-rays show some slight lifting of the prosthesis on the inside of my knee, but not enough to concern him. He found that the severe pain was caused by bursitis on the inside of my knee. He gave me a cortisone injection to help reduce the pain. I will return in two months to be sure everything is still ok. You can't imagine how relieved I am that I don't have to go through another knee surgery.

Oh, I'm SO glad to hear that!
YAY!!!!!!
