Ok maybe this is corny... (hehehe at least I'm staying true to my character here...) I should be going to bed right now, but I got to thinking about things that make me happy and decided to make a list. So, here it is:
-Seeing a horse running through a field.
-Feeling his breath on my neck as he rests his chin on my shoulder.
-The sound of the ocean waves lapping up on the shore.
-Feeling the sand squishing between my toes.
-Seeing the moonlight reflected on the ocean.
-My hair blowing in the wind.
-The sunshine peaking through the clouds after a big storm.
-Snow capped mountains in view across a field.
-The sound of a babbling brook.
-The reflection on a still lake.
-An eagle or a hawk circling in the sky above.
-The look on my dogs face when I get home from work.
-A butterfly fluttering across the yard.
-Helping someone who needs it.
-Wild flowers along side a country road.
-The symphony nature sings if we will only sit still and listen for a moment.
-Believing I am loved and always will be no matter what.
So what makes you happy?
napping in a sunbeam on a cold winter afternoon.
taking a brisk walk in the Autumn or Winter.
All the colors of Autumn
Losing myself in a book
my husband
my neighbors little girl
grilled cheese sandwiches
the feel of freshly washed hair
pants that fit
baby quail running behind their mother
being at peace
Discovering the Cinderella pumpkin I threw in the compost last fall rotted and germinated, so now I have yards and yards of vines covered with new pumpkins.
Puffy white cumulous clouds
A mother duck being followed by her ducklings
Cooling down after a rigorous workout
Any Dvorak chamber pieces
Serendipity
Tight clothes that suddenly fit
Understanding someone without having to say a word
Hearing about about a wildly successful woman
Films that cause me to cry my eyes out
Driving around in the middle of nowhere
-Laughing so hard my gut hurts.
-The sound of rain on the window.
-Thinking about the things that make me happy.
-Seeing the results of hard work.
All I can think of for the moment is waking up and realising I dont have to get out of bed.
- sunny, breezy, good-day-for-hanging-laundry weather
- out-of-the-blue, sincere compliments
- just-picked raspberries
- finding an author so good you have to go out and get all their other books
- remembering all 108 poses in Tai Chi class and breathing/moving in sync with everyone else
Awww........ thanks, Chai Tea.
