Should be watching the History Channel right now. They're addressing WWII Japanese weaponry and how their technology contributed to their defeat. And, how American industry produced more weapons in month than Japan did during the entire war.
That industry has largely moved offshore today, such that we are at the mercy of third world countries to produce our own weaponry.
Thank you, EPA and ATF (and by the way, our gas now costs shitloads as well).
Dude, I should lobby to shell Canada, just for you. Smile, we know where you live.
Give it your best shot, dude

I wouldn't worry too much about the firearms industry moving offshore, cj. They're still American companies. Federal law forbids the US goverment from buying arms manufactured by foreign countries for use by the armed forces or federal police agencies e.g. ATF, FBI, Homeland Security etc. While I might buy the occasional Made-in-Brazil .38 (I have -- the price was right), the Army (or any other military branch) can't do that. M-16s are home made. We don't stock AK-47s.
I suspect Intrepid's Dad was a Mountie. Or Mountme. You and Setanta siblings or something? You sure like following me around.

And where are we getting our cold rolled steel for armoured personnel carriers? Counterweights for heavy lift equipment?
