You play the game pretty hard. People, myself included respond in kind. It is surprising you would be so easily upset.

In my interactions with you, you have called me a communist and an illegal immigrant. Neither is true and neither is particularly upsetting to me other than my suspicion that you meant these terms as a high form of insult.. You have also suggested on several occasions that groups of people deserved to die, and have made ethnic jokes clearly designed to offend.

I (and I think many of the others will agree) understand that being subjected to this from you is part of being on A2K. I certainly have never taken it personally.

I figure that you and I must both get something out of bumping heads or neither of us would be here.

I am pretty sure that I have never attacked you personally. I have made sport of some of your opinions and your love of guns. I haven't seen anyone treat you in a way that I thought was inappropriate given your willingness to bump heads with us "liberals" here.

So I don't get it. This is an open forum and bumping heads is part of the landscape... and probably part of the appeal. The line should be drawn at personal attacks, but attacking and defending ideas is what political debate is all about.

So I don't get what your beef is. You should not be surprised if you receive the same treatment you give out...

Trolling is in the eye of the beholder ... apparently.

Does the word "troll" here refer to the verb-- meaning to slowly drag a baited hook in front of (hopefully) hungry fish...

... or does it refer to the noun?.. a cranky old being hiding under a bridge hoping to devour passing innocent maidens.


It seems like either one would kind of make sense, but it isn't clear which usage is intended.

It would be nice, however, to be able to post about my interests without being called an idiot.

Sarcasm and lampoonery are accepted and acceptable responses to puffed up ideological positions as old as the Republic, if not older. If one cannot "hold one's dominion" (to paraphrase another A2ker) in the face of such light artillery, perhaps that speaks volumes about why one would feel the need to tout gun ownership as a response to all the world's problems. Or to label people of other colors than oneself as their root...

It's more than a little ironic to complain about treatment one has doled out willingly to others, however.

In general, if you treat people with decency and respect, for the most part they will respond in kind. I have had strong disagreements with many people on A2K that stayed respectful.

Since I have interacted with you, you have strongly insulted anyone who disagrees with you... often with namecalling and personal attacks.

You have been very disrespectful of snood... and he has been pretty restrained (in my opinion).

Attacking the patriotism of an active duty service member, especially now in a time of war, takes real balls.
