The monarchical(?) government in Nepal and the Maoist rebels have been in a ceasefire for about 3 months now after 7 years of civil war in which around 7,000 people have died. There have been some rounds of meetings between leaders of each side. It seems they have agreed to work out how to handle the details of the ceasefire - what constitutes a breach, how to prosecute those who fail to accord with the ceasefire, etc. Future talks, hopefully, will get into more emotionaly charged political issues.

BBC article on Nepal

This country has had incredible political fluxes especially since 1950.
