Each time somebody makes a comment, it's a "post." When anybody writes or uses IMG to post a picture and hits "Submit," it's a post.

shrug.

A mere technicality in numbering, dagmaraka. The "OFFICIAL" post count is on the A2K home page.

If we go by the "technical numbers at the top of our posts," then Lightwizard had the 2 millionth post on April 24th, 2006, at 3:42 pm on the thread entitled: Intelligent Design Theory: Science or Religion?

Here's his post:

Quote:
Who said it was for the purpose of impressing the "ladies?" There they go again with the sexist, mysoginistic comments from the peanut head gallery. Quit while you're behind 'cause the hole is already twenty-feet deep. This thread has been in subjective limbo for several weeks -- a little jarring with some diversion into other subjects won't hurt a bit.

The emoticons are helpful if one is not being serious. I never had a lot of respect for Edison when he tried playing big business man on top of inventing practically everything (in his own mind ) His devotion to DC was really short sighted and he wasn't as much a scientist as he was a would-be marketing maven.

http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2000000#2000000

According to the official post count, Lightwizard's post was approximately 40,333 posts ahead of its time. . . .

Debra, How come you didn't join us at the Chicago gathering? joefromchicago, sublime, and J_B were there to assist in the festivities, and all of us enjoyed everybody else that attended.

We're in the process of planning one for Europe early next year. I hope you will consider joining us.

I haven't been in Chicago since 1988. At that time, I attended an event that featured Kitty Dukakis as a speaker. Smile

Yes, that makes sense and probably explains the discrepancy between the posts as numbered and the total number of posts on this site as set forth in the official count on the home page.

Accordingly, so long as no more numbered posts are deleted, the member whose post is numbered 2,040,333 will most likely have the official two millionth post.

Who will be the A2K member to make the 2 millionth post on this site?

No idea, to be honest.

I hereby revise my prediction to "Debra_Law", given her interest in the subject. Perhaps I should PM Ticomaya about it so the two can have a race? Razz

My official prediction is that the 2 millionth post will occur at 12.05pm tomorrow, the 16th May.

I expect some kind of unusual forfeit from Shewolf if I am correct.

Am I missing something here? Where do we find the number of posts? Is it that number following "Post"at the top of any given post? If it is, Ellpus's one just past said 2,037,xxx (it disappeared when I started this reply, so I'm not sure of the last three digits)--how come I've got 37000-some more posts than everyone else? Am I living in your future? Like Merlin am I living backward to meet you all somewhere in between?
