Happy Birthday Bear !

If I remember correctly, sometime in the summer of 1948, I believe it was in late August, I picked up this hot-looking babe playing guitar in one of the local bars. I forget her name, but she was albino and, although strikingly beautiful, she did resemble a polar bear. We spent three days in a motel room and when I woke up on the third day she was gone. I picked up her pillow and buried my nose into it, intoxicated by her perfume. On the night stand was a single yellow rose with a note underneath.

The note said, "Thank you, Gustav, for making me feel like a complete woman. I feel as if there is something growing in me and I must leave. I shall never forget you and perhaps our paths, in one way on another, will cross again. I love you, Gustav, but I must now go. In nine months I shall birth a child. That child is yours, Gustav."

I never made the connection until Squinney posted this birthday tribute to Bear. Then everything became perfectly clear. I HAVE A SON!!

Happy Birthday, Bear. Please forgive me for not being there for you.
