and stayed there... as a direct result of the Iraqi war and the impending Iranian war.... and it boosted the general USA economy tremendously would you then support our current military policy?

If Bush personally pumped my gas for free while wearing his feety pajamas I would not support the war or anything else his air brained friends have inflicted upon us.

Re: If Gas Went To A Dollar A Gallon
Hi blueveinedthrobber,

I would need to know why gas went to a dollar a gallon and stayed there as a direct result of the Iraqi war and the impending Iranian war.

I would need to know what you mean by "stayed there".

I can see no reason for your scenario being likely any more than I can (for example) see solar power to be the cheap dominant mobile power source in the shorter term.

No, I wouldn't support the war then, but I would have the forethought (I hope!) to invest in oil right before we invaded Iran, leaving me quite wealthy and indignant at the same time, the best mix of circumstances possible, if you ask me, which you did.

Dollar a gallon! If only! Luxury, I tell ya!

Today petrol is about $1.40/litre in Sydney. I'm not sure of the conversion rate - but I suspect there's something like 4 or 5 litres to the gallon - I'm sure someone else knows.

And it's cheap in Oz compared to Europe - last time there it was twice that price.

Still don't support the war, though!

The US gallon is smaller than the Imperial gallon.

US gallon = 3.785411784 L
Imperial gallon = 4.54609 L

Since we're already paying over $4 a gallon, my sympathy for you doesn't extend far.

That put's ours at $5.22 a gallon. In other words, in a message to all our
American friends. "You've got nothing to complain about, so don't!"
