My friend and i are planning to hold monthly audio visual parties around Jo'burg. They will showcase motion picture art (video art, experimental film animation etc) and we really need a name, we have the proposal and P. point presentation ready for our sponosrs but we don't have a catchy name for our event.

The parties showcase the visual art but we will have DJ's and video scratch artists spinning all night (video scratching sorta MTV mash). basically this is a high class upper end kind of vibe with a technological touch (5 flat screens three projectors) and of course DJ's.

help me out what would you call this event? Something real slick and clever?

Interestingly (if irrelevantly), a Dutch self-described "singer-sample-songwriter", who makes a kind of gentle lo-fi songs that often organically incorporate an array of cut-up and remixed archive sounds and samples, and has often done performances that mixed in film and video as well, goes by the name of SpinviS..

"Screened" Question

That would refer to the upper end / elite hip element (to screen=to check/separate a select group of people) as well as to the obvious (video screens; to screen a film, etc)

I like ping duck. "Have you been to a ping duck party?" "No, not yet." "OOOOH, you've got to go with me next week! They are the best!"

I like "Flex" too.

Flex as in flexible (multimedia etc)
Flex as in flex your muscle - show your power, show who you are
Flex as in reflex, impulse

Its also been used in dancehall tracks ("Watch how you flex"), also means parties (Jamaica flex) - that could be good or bad, I guess.

Or "Multi", perhaps.. as another name..

But i dunno, you dont got that whole monosyllabic thing going on there then?

It seems/seemed like every band and club night's called something monosyllabic nowadays here (I mean, back home) ...

(not saying thats good or bad either, just - yeah)
