My A2K boner and a buttered scone.

The time is 4.05am monday morning.

Yet again I have woken up at 4am. This has happened virtually every morning for the past three or four weeks. Whatever time I go to bed, however tired I am, 4am....on the dot.

I am sitting here, eating a buttered scone, having just had the devil's own job in psyching myself out of one of the most magnificent boners I have had in recent history, so that I could go to the loo without dousing the ceiling light in the bathroom. For once, I am NOT joking.

About seven hours ago, I had just returned from a 220 mile round trip on the motorway. I resisted the temptation to eat, settling for a hot drink and quick gawk at the TV, followed by bed.

There was nothing worth watching on the box, so I logged into A2K (still sulking that I had missed out on the April 1st silliness, by the way), and posted a couple of replies about a serious subject. I then realised that I should avoid serious stuff just before beddy byes, and went in search of a mindless heap of rubbish that would numb the senses.

I quickly came across a thread about butter, and was reading away, merrily letting out the odd chortle, when suddenly three or four of our female members started on about how they were having a craving for Kicky and myself, involving popsicles if I remember correctly.

Naturally, when one's name appears in a thread, more attention is paid and I can only think that this imprinted in the old pathways, as I have just had a dream where multiple women were doing things to me . I am bitterly disappointed that I can't remember the specifics.

I wish to thank those ladies of A2K for giving me that boner and causing me to come down to the kitchen, dig two sultana scones out of the bread bin, and generously coat them in butter.
I would like you to remember that us males on A2K are putty in your hands so, bearing this in mind, please act responsibly when posting in butter threads.

A question to any sleep experts out there. Why the **** do I have a mental alarm clock set at 4am ? Normally after a pretty vivid dream (I never dream, usually) which can be scary, funny or in this case....damned sexy. Why?

Butter....it does a body good.

Have you lost your alarm clock manual? I can set the little idiot in my brain pretty much to any time i want. Well, if it's important, that is. You might be ripe for 'autohypnosis'. Works for many things. Google it.

Everyone does, LordE. It used to be commonly accepted, it had a name and everything, people would wake up around then, stay up a while, then go back to sleep.

I need to get to bed myself, will look it up in the morning.

Spanky, they would kiss your hand, if you'd take over the
paper route.

On the other hand, you might not need so much sleep,
just get up at 4 am and embrace the day.

The A2K april hoo haw is now a looked for joy. This one was rambunctiously special, but so was the last and the last before that. I too wish it would last longer so that more could catch it. Hard even to predict the timing. This one was on the late side. I seem to remember an earlier one being early day, re here, which was there, back when I was in California.

The piquance is from the brains behind it and the play. By nature ephemerality in progress, and by nature a slightly grasped delight.

What we need, I think, are timer bells for next year,... but then that would be entirely too programatic. and negate the surprise. Dreadful problem.

i was near abed myself.

Thanks Dag, although I shouldn't really be conversing with you, as you were one of the ringleaders with the popsicle thing.

Autohypnosis was googled, and this was the first result.....

http://www.autohypnosis.net/music.htm

I have just listened to his music, and would suggest that he sends in some demo tapes to an elevator company.
I will continue the search.

I will also try to find the butter thread again, so I can name the culprits.
Shame on them.

egads, that's not what i meant. autohypnosis is a skill of 'self-programming'. there are many books on that that will teach you some basic tricks. i should ask my mother, the autohypnosis guru, for some recommended published guru, if you are interested.

Osso, I caught last years Atookian thingy, and thought it was brilliant. Alas, I had to go to bed at midnight this year, as I knew I'd be wide awake at 4.

Your limbs are heavy. Warmth is spreading from your heart to the tip of your fingernails. Your head is light, it is a big empty space, with but a single boat lulling on the ocean stretching over the horizon....

(I'll ask.)

So, we need to get the powers that be to record it somehow.

To me, the thrill was in the gradual gainning of seriously silly and the denouement, sorta like one of those curves you saw in school.

Ephemeral, and obviously killed by any kind of planning except for target, like threads and words related to title.

Or, as in last year, making everyone have the same username. Or, was it the year before that, having all avatars be hamsters.

Whatever, I like it.

I DARE not read it again in detail, as I'm just about to try and get another hour's sleep.

But this is where it all started, methinks.

littlek, you are named and shamed.
