Smoking that is. It's been about a month since I had my last cigarette. The cravings hit hard from time to time but I'm fighting them. I am a non smoker.

Yes, well done.

Any time you feel a craving, remember you've given up NOTHING AT ALL!
Hope that makes sense..

I sympathise with you RfromP.I've been told it's agony but I wouldn't know.I've never tried myself.
I smoke hand-rolled fags using Golden Virginia.About ten a day.Perhaps they'll kill me and perhaps they won't.They are quite cheap though and when I take a good pull on one and suck it into the depths of my lungs I feel like a million dollars.
I drink too.I'm a real schmuck and no mistake.
Listen-don't bet either. If you have a good win a fag will be irresistable. And post coital scenes are out as well. Many a resolution has been obliterated in such circumstances.So-be warned.Chin up-best foot forward.

Hang in there. The cravings never stop but they become more and more easy to ignore and eventually you realize that it's not the smoke nor the nicotine that calls to you. It's the habit. And that's easy to dismiss.

I smoked for 29 years and quit four years ago. Cold turkey. It's one of my proudest achievements so far.

RfromP: Good for you! Welcome to the non-smokers club.

eow: Wow! That's pretty awesome. What made you give it up cold turkey? I smoked for ~6-7 years (more heavily in the last couple). Gave it up cold turkey too on Nov. 4 2004 - the day I found out I was preggers.

Just wish I could get my husband to quit as well. He says it's his NY resolution. I've heard that before, but this time - we've a baby, so maybe that'll drive him.

RfromP - good work!

Not easy quitting. I quit my "big" smoking <3 packs a day> about 20 years ago. Had my last relapse <2 packs over a week> about 4 and a half years ago. Not easy - but worth the initial fuss.

Congratulations, RfromP !!!

I quit......um..... (counting fingers).... maybe 9 years ago. I almost nver (maybe actually never) get cravings anymore. I do, however, occassionally think it might be okto have one - but, of course I don't.

Anway - congrats RfromP!

Nicotrol is the same - exactly, stray, and cheaper, especially if you order from New Zealand.
