Hello, this thread appears to be two years ago...so it might be a bit late for me to jump in now...but I'm a HK person from HK, if you can call someone that when they left the territory almost 15 years ago...I am interested in HK but more the political sitaution there, ever since 1997. its interesting, its absurd, its contraversial...
This year I spent just 24 hours in Hong Kong on my way to Canada from Australia. I made a serious error. I should have allowed at least a week. I've travelled widely in the world but I can tell you if I get a chance to go back to Hong Kong I will spend a week or two there. I seriously had never thought of it as a holiday destination but I was very wrong. If you get a chance to go there, do it.
I travelled Cathay Pacific. Great airline. the cabin crew were actually helpful and nice to passengers
It's really a great place for shopping.
