Sources: RG, SRG Commanders Betrayed Hussein
STRATFOR - April 15, 2003 -

Stratfor's German intelligence sources say that Iraq's rapid fall occurred because Saddam Hussein was killed early in the war, due to some top Iraqi military leaders negotiating the end of resistance by elite forces. While these reports are unconfirmed, it is not inconceivable. A decision by top Iraqi commanders and secret services chiefs to betray their leaders before or during the war could have led to the collapse of the regime.

Iraqi Opposition Meeting: More Show Than Substance
STRATFOR - April 15, 2003

A meeting of Iraqi opposition groups April 15 in An Nasiriyah will not directly lead to an interim Iraqi government, nor will any significant procedural steps be taken or decisions made. However, members of opposition groups will use the opportunity to position themselves in this new post-Saddam Hussein reality.
