MERRY CHRISTMAS . . .

In the fervent hope that this will be offensive to at least someone, if not at best to a great many people, i offer the following:

MERRY CHRISTMAS[/b]

and . . .

HAPPY CHANUKAH[/b]

and finally . . .

HAPPY KWANZA[/b]

I certainly hope that this tortures the bizarre sensibilities of the Political Rectitude Gestapo--sadly, though, i actually believe that our site is not well provided with such nut cases . . .

It is commonplace that most lost thread concepts are not defined by isolated sentences of natural languages but rather as parts of theories, and the acceptance of the theory is determined by its fit to a large collection of phenomena. It is proposed a similar method for explicating mental and other common sense concepts, but a certain phenomenon plays a more important role than with scientific theories: the concept is meaningful only in the theory, and cannot be defined with more precision than the theory permits.

The notion of one theory approximating another needs to be formalized. One can think of various kinds of probabilistic approximation. I think this kind of approximation is untypical and misleading and won't help explicate such concepts as intentional action as meaningful in approximate theories. Instead it may go something like this:

Consider a detailed theory T that has a state variable s. We may imagine that s changes with time. The approximating theory has a state variable. There is a predicate whose truth means that is applicable when the world is in state s. There is a relation which asserts that corresponds to the state we have.

Therefore, I ask again; Where is the reference to:

Happy Wepet-renpet

'Opening of the Year'. Mesut-Ra 'birth of Ra' - Coptic Mesori. Of Osiris, Horus, Seth, Isis and Nephthys.

I like Diwali.
Festival of lights.
Brightest desserts I've ever seen.
Too sweet for me.
But bright.

I take a back seat to noone in despising proselytising religionists such as yourself, but today I'm in the mood for tolerance and forgiveness. Season's Greetings to you too, Set.
