The Calamity Jane Thread.

Reply Thu 17 Nov, 2005 08:39 pm
I think it is about time we devoted a thread to our ubiquitous A2K friend, Calamity Jane. She is seemingly everywhere on A2K. You might find her on a thread dealing with auto repair, then, later, she will be discussing the history of Bolivian quilts over in the sewing room. We've all seen here around, yet she has that certain aura about her that causes people to pause.

Where is she from? Why is she here? Is she possibly a spy?

This thread will be devoted to discussion about Calamity Jane.

Please keep your remarks civil.

Yes I did, Edgar. For the South. But now is not the time or place to discuss my military background.

This is Jane's hour. Let her bask.

Well, then, Jane, perhaps you will be even more embarrassed when I present you with this single flower, as a way of thanking you for enriching my life with your Bolivian quilt expertise...

Go on, Jane. Take it. This is your day.

We're glad to see you also superjuly, we've missed you
terribly.

I think you're up to something gustav. You probably are going
to ask me for a rather large loan aren't you? Or some other party favors?

Thank you for the tulip though, it's rather nice.

I love CJane. I think she's terrific.

A thread in her honor is entirely appropriate but since she isn't such a flashy-center-of-attention type girl I don't want to see her embarrased by all those who like her.

So I'm just going to wave at her and then stop.

No, Jane, I expect nothing in return for starting this thread. I just happened to be walking by your house the other day and saw you in the window, tears streaming down your cheeks. I saw your daughter walk up to you, take your face into her hands, and say, "What's wrong, mama?"

Your sobbing reply almost broke my heart. Your words still ring in my ears....

"It's nothing, darling. I....I....I would just like to get a little recognition on A2K. Go to sleep, baby. You have school in the morning."
