I have browsed around on the local volunteering website, looking for volunteer positions that I'll like and having been able to find something I want. Can you give me suggestions on what kind of positions I can do?
My requirements:
- to provide information to people (i.e. work at an information desk)
- preferably not sit behind a desk infront of a computer (I'm infront of a computer screen allday for my day job)
- involves talking to a lot of people
- involves not working with seniors or kids (10 years old and younger)
- not tutoring (I've tutored before and I got bored)
- possible involves leadership or organizing
- not a position at a hospital or homeless shelter
Thanks in advance,
how about a non-governmental organization - environment, immigrants, human rights, ... many may have campaigns of sorts that would involve organizing, talking to people... you could call around different groups and ask if they're taking volunteers - not all volunteer positions will be posted online.
I would suggest a museum too - one that young children are less likely to go to - like a fine arts museum.
