Just how did this saying get started? Are the symptoms really feverish ? Is there any cure or do we need one ? Is there a pill you can take for it ?

Spring fever ? The symptoms ? sweaty palms, can't eat, eyes go all watery, your legs turn too jelly. It's brought on in men by the sight of women in their summer clothes stirring up a lethargic libido that's perhaps been lying dormant during the winter months.
It's in our genes and the only know cure is a long cold shower

a long cold shower or a long cold beer by the river looking at those women in summer clothes...

God I love spring, summer is just round the corner!

English mentality....

At the very vaguest hint of a warm day us brits wear as little as possible and head outside to enjoy it.

This can be the slight change in temperature from 2 degrees to 5 degrees or simply a day when it doesn't rain Very Happy

Once upon a time, the world was a great deal simpler and life was much less complicated and food was a lot harder to come by and to preserve in the winter months.

By spring people were frequently suffering from malnutrition--or starvation.

There is a lot of work to be done to start Planting Season in the agricultural year--but if you're ravaged by winter shortages, you don't feel like a lot of work.

Hence early spring malaise--and the diagnosis, "spring fever".

Frivolity is a necessity--but other people's frivolity is exhausting. My own is sustaining.
