It would appear from the cheering in Baghdad that once the goon squads of Saddam are gone the Iraqi's are cheering our troops and celebratimg . Is it possible that they are greatful for our preemptive attack which brought them a release from the tyranny of Saddam?

I was watching the news, and they were saying massive crowds were involved. There could have been 75-150 people on the screen ... maybe! Somehow I don't just see that as massive, but that's just me! I love the media spin on this war!
However, I must say that I do think they are happy to have us there. The only ones that are unhappy are the ones who led the priviledged life under Saddam!!
Think, I've read 100 or so people down at the statue.
I'm sure there are people dancing in the streets with joy and people lying in wait with ideas less than joyous.
That's not true.
We're being defeated at the gates of Baghdad, our troops our committing suicide, and the Iraq goverment is in full control.
Just ask the Iraq Minister of Defense.
Bright bulb, that guy.
From what I could see, there wasn't that many people cheering.
The initial euphoria is fine. But it won't last long. They've still got to face the reality of living day to day where just about everything is running out and there's no law and order. And religious assassinations have already started.
