Be friendly, be objective, and don't get emotionally involved. Be yourself, and be honest. Don't share anything that you will regret sharing later. Understand that the members that you will meet on A2K most likely have a much wider range of intelligence, education, levels of experience, and maturity, than are your friends in "real life". Take that into consideration when you reply, especially in a heated discussion.

There are a lot of people who get their knickers in a twist when discussing subjects that have great significance to them. Discussion is great, but it becomes counterproductive when a member becomes enraged, upset, or otherwise aggravated over what another member has posted.

Differences of opinion is one of the things that make A2K so fascinating. Once the computer is turned off, and there is still emotion over an A2K discussion, IMO, the member is becoming too emotionally connected.

Just have fun!

Congrats on becoming an enthusiast and now on to how to enjoy yourself here. Look around...see all the places you can immerse yourself, topics and threads galore...the bigger riddle is how to pull away form A2K after several hours of exploration, fun and learning.

Phoenix, Do you always do the process of selecting text and choosing green over and over again or is there any way to set this as a default?

I have to choose the color and text each time that I post.

one of the biggest things I needed to learn about forum stuff spider, is that, with the absence of vocal fluxuations , body language and facial expressions, it is hard to always understand someones point.
What you may take as hostile, may not be MENT as hostile from the poster.

with this in mind, try not to take offence to some of the stupidity and always jump face first into the humor.

Thats fine advice, she, I like that.
How much time do you spend here everyday?
I sometimes feel that A2K is like an essential part of some members' life.
Its like they just dwell here.
My original motive on A2K was to find intellectual company which I don't get in my real life.
Lately, however, I am gettting more personal.
