Alternative Manners of Communication: Not Using Words!

Reply Tue 8 Apr, 2003 11:26 pm
There are varied situations, methods and reasons for communicating a thought, a message, warnings and....help me here, please... for other ways to get a message across. When words just do not do the trick.

Not that this is earth-shattering or new to me. Yet, today, I shocked myself, when I realized that I had slowly, unconsciously, had done so, unkowingly. My method has brought about the result that I wished...and it was not a conscious decision to do so.

There must be a spectrum of behaviour for myriad reasons, where we
communicate without words. What are these, for you? Why? Message intended? Results? No results? If not, why do you think your actions did not communicate what you wanted 'to say'?

Does this strike a chord in anyone?

Wondering!

Fatima, Your forum title brings to mind a experience I had when I was in the US Air Force in the late fifties stationed in Morocco. Some of us from the same squadron went to Merrakech for the week-end, and ended up drinking wine with some French paratroopers. They didn't speak a word of English, and none of us spoke any French, but we spent the whole day drinking wine together, and having the greatest time of our life. We spoke by sign language. Towards early evening, the MP's picked us up, took our French madellions from us, and took us back to base. The only thing they couldn't take away was our good memory of this experience. c.i.

Guys,

It appears to me that I was not clear in the intention of my question. Hmm, wh3, I realized that is a lovely answer and NOT a double entendre<??????>, after I read it the 5th time to be certain.
c.i.:whats the use in being young, if you can not be wild, drinking without understanding the other person <and, Hey, look on the bright side, YOU could have been speaking the same language, and not understood each other = has been known to happen when one+ wine to the conversation> and just generally acting stupid!

Sometimes I think our best memories are remembering, with wonder how one survived youth's follies.

I may just have to say what I meant to ask, outright....

Thanks you for sharing.

{When is a double entendre a double entendre, c.i.? You are the one who knows how to communicate with the French, without speaking their language!}

Fatima, I would like to make one small editorial change from your "survived youth's follies" to "survived youth's foibles." Wink c.i.

I believe I understand your thought, Fatima.
There are ways of communication I NEVER would have believed, if I had not stumbled upon them .

I know that several universities have studied ESP. I wonder what they've learned from their studies? c.i.

C.I.

There are several links to the things studied in colleges and Universities,
but more pertinent to me, and perhaps to others-
is the huge supply of information to MIND CONTROL that is available on Internet.
Not everyone is OUT to get you, of course. .

Since Fatima10 raised this question; I feel it is an appropriate time to tell the general users of "internet communication"- "Don't allow it to go too far. And keep your email and personal information to yourself. You would not WANT to be targeted ! Read some links below:

It may be necessary to 'paste' the entire link to

jackie, It's not only the lonely who fall victim to fraud and mind games. Many so-called intelligent people fall into these traps. This subject continues to fascinate, because we find people that will follow orders even when they know it is vicious or unethical. Studies have been done at Stanford University where experiments have shown anybody could fall into these situations. It's really kind of scary. c.i.
