Here is one to ponder about...Stupid things people say.

Okay the other day me and my mom was talking about gorillas warfare and how she feels sorry for the people in the towns they go to because these gorillas take everything and rape the women and so on and so forth...
Then right in the middle of the conversation my sister with a confused look on her face asked questionly, "How...umm. Why do gorillas go around raping people. And since when?"

And justifyably so, since you and your mom were obviously talking about guerillas, not gorillas. One can hardly blame your sister for being confused.

Say this one fast:

Youth in Asia

We actually had this conversation with our daughter a million years ago. Funny as hell at the time, but you probably "had to be there".

Welcome to A2K, by the way.

i am constantly amazed at the way people make obviously redundant staements upon hearing certain things

like so

me: i'm going to jack's funeral
other person: oh is jack dead

not when did jack die, or, oh how sad, both of which are much more logical responses

you could substitute graduation, retirement party, wedding and a host of other things for funeral and still get the same response from some people

I am very disappointed to see that we only have the head shot now, Chai.

Another pleasant A2K distraction gone by the wayside.........

Situation:

You've just had your gallbladder removed, thrown up several hundred times, coming out of anaesthesia, coming down from the morphine, attempting to move but being in too much pain to actually move to where you want to be, and plus the oxygen tubes and IV line is pulling or getting tangled, and then a visitor arrives and says 'ooooh are you ok?'.....

Very caring, but if I could have moved, I would have killed him. Very Happy

No, no. Give Chai a break. She looks very thoughtful.

Besides, that other stuff is just transitory.

At the library checkout line (or the cash register at the bookstore):

"Are you going to read all those books?"

Usually followed by the virtuous assertion:

"I wish I had time to read."

I don't "have" time to read, I make time to read.

I was installing a water line for a refrigerator at a customers house the other day and had to shut the main off so I asked where the basement was.

Their reply was "downstairs"
