Prologue — The Mirror
We flew for a long time.
In the mirror there was —
all the time the not I.
Chapter I. The Burden of Thought
The eyelids inclining draw the morning
into the human,
but the load, the Brow, is no lighter.
Thought for too long.
The word fell
into me.
I await its flight —
into the cosmos.
Chapter II. The Departure of the I
A home of silence
broken by a loud word.
There is nowhere to enter.
Love departed.
It was held by a gaze —
too direct.
The mountain in the distance.
If you come too close —
the height is not visible.
The hand you extended —
it became further away.
Let go…
of the target from the visor!
Tore away the veil —
the Meaning froze
in the coldness of clarity.
Clear midday.
From this clarity
one longs for shadow.
Chapter III. The Stillness of Measure
Measure is the distance
where fullness lives.
You will not depart without a trace —
the Shadow of Measure will not leave in peace
its executioner.
(like the ghost of Hamlet's Father!)
A hand over the water.
If you touch it — ripples.
If not —
the reflection.
The name of Love is spoken —
the flower vanished.
Only the wrapper remained.
The word ended.
The Meaning stands beyond the edge —
ineffable.
Chapter IV. The Ascension of the Not I
The inclined brow —
is not for bowing to the crowd.
The wind knows the measure.
A loud word.
The sea keeps silence deeper —
and therefore is true.
The eyelids are entorned.
The thought awaits the radiant light...
It is not I who writes —
between the words
simplicity breathes.
My name is a shadow,
walking without footprints
toward the white day.
Chapter V. The Counsel
I departed,
because I was higher —
the path opened for the not I.
We did not meet.
The quieter I am,
the more distinct
his footsteps.
The heart knows before
the thought can catch up.
Do not break the path.
Near — does not mean close.
Close — is where they do not accept bribes.
Close — is where they run without looking back...
The hand withdraws.
Between the lines —
the breath of being.
Do not prevent the good word from happening —
only it will lead you out
of the utter darkness forever.
