— the motto of The Givers of Roses KaJe MeG
Epigraph
“Doing good is that which evokes a smile, a joy on the face of another person.” — The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)
Why do the stars shine in the bottomless heights?
So that in the hour when the earth slips from beneath your feet,
You may find your own once more — the one that burns in the soul,
Keeping the pure origin within the breast.
Not for earthly victories was their cold light kindled,
Not for the paths of glory and crowns,
But so that in the darkness, when everything turns to pain,
You would lift your gaze, remembering the Creator.
The Purified Rose
You who give a rose — cut off its thorns!
Let the gift not wound, nor pierce, nor sting.
In it, hide neither anger nor pride,
Nor the concealed dagger of resentments.
The Danaans' gift was deceitful and false,
Bearing poison and death under the guise of beauty.
We, however, give one completely different — purified, alive,
Where the light of the soul abides, and not the venom of darkness.
Sonnet of the Cut Thorns
When centuries in golden fires
Burn down empires and shatter altars,
We destroy that single pillar
Which, like a worm, consumes everything from within.
Washing the blood from our palms, the poison from swords,
Burn, O fire of spiritual tablets!
Our gift is purified, righteous, belonging to no one,
In it, there is only a reverent aroma for humanity.
Rubai of the Celestial Trace
The words of sophists are deceitful and empty,
There is no good in them for invisible lips.
But the Rose of the Spirit is the supreme judgment over darkness,
In it is pure light and the devotion's art.
Do good — and let a smile blossom in response
On the face of another in a single instant.
The scent of roses always lingers on that hand
Which gives peace to the world, and hides no thorns.
Haiku of the Supreme Exhalation
Cut away is the thorn invisible to the eye.
Pure aroma of the palm.
Joy on the face.
